HISTORY: On September 16, 2006 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas WBC world super featherweight champion Marco Antonio Barrera defended his title against Rocky Juarez. Barrera won a 12 round decision. Barrera made the fourth defense of his WBC title and second straight in four months over Juarez, having won by a scorecard controversy filled split decision in May at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Barrera controlled the opening rounds with his left jab but could never really capitalize. The fans booed the lack of action throughout the fight, hoping for a repeat of the slugfest from the first meeting.
