HISTORY: On March 16, 1980 at the Jai Alai Fronton Arena in Miami former world welterweight champion Wilfred Benitez began his comeback after losing to Sugar Ray Leonard in his previous effort by taking on tough Johnny Turner. Benitez prevailed stopping Turner in the 9th round. Turner suffered several cuts and on the advice of the ringside Doctor referee Eddie Eckert stopped the bout. Also on the show Aaron Pryor stopped Juan "Diablio" Valdez in the 4th round.
