Bill Brown was a boxer and wrestler in the early 20th century. Born in Ireland. Trained at the Pastime A.C. in NYC. Brown became friends with the famous NY wrestler George Bothner and he trained Bothner for many of his biggest matches. Owned a New York City gym and acted as a referee, promoter and trainer. After William Muldoon's death in the early 1930's he took Muldoon's place on the New York State boxing commission. Brown died around 1942. Offered here is an original, first generation, mounted, antique photograph of Bill Brown in period dress.
