HISTORY: Natie Brown was an American heavyweight who fought from 1928 until 1949. Born in Philadelphia on March 2, 1910. During his lengthy career Brown scored victories over Johnny Risko, Tony Galento and had a draw with Mickey Walker. He fought Joe Louis twice, Tony Galento three times, Maxie Rosenbloom, Corn Griffin, Max Baer and LeRoy Haynes. After his boxing career Brown wrestled under the name Purple Heart. Natie Brown died on June 24, 1991 at the age of 81.
