On May 11, 1922 at the Olympia in London world light heavyweight champion Georges Carpentier of France defended his title against tough, Ted "Kid" Lewis. Also at stake was the European Heavyweight Title. Carpentier knocked Lewis out in the very first round. Carpentier scored a one-punch knockout, landing a right to the jaw on a break.
