HISTORY: On March 17, 1990 at the Las Vegas Hilton in Las Vegas, Nevada IBF Light Welterweight Champion Meldrick Taylor fought a unification bout with WBC Light Welterweight Champion Julio Cesar Chavez. In a brutal bout Taylor was ahead on points going into the 12th round. In the final seconds Chavez put Taylor down and when he arose referee Richard Steele stopped the fight with only two seconds left in the final round awarding the victory to Chavez.
