Jack Dempsey was born on June 24, 1895 in Manassa, Colorado. He defeated Jess Willard on July 4, 1919 to win the World Heavyweight Title and held the title until September 23, 1926 when he lost to Gene Tunney. Dempsey announced his retirement in February of 1928 with a final record of 64-6-9 with 49 KO's. Presented here is an oversized Apeda studio photo circa 1925. This Apeda Photo measures 11 inches by 14 inches.The photo has light edge and corner wear.The upper right corner has a light crease.There are small tack holes (5 in total) in the top and right borders.There is some light soiling.The Apeda mark is present on the front.The back has some monir pencil writing.The image is outstanding.Circa 1925.
