Jack Dempsey won the World Heavweight Title from Jess willard in Toledo, Ohio on July 4, 1919. He posted career victories over Billy Miske, Fred Fulton, Geprges Carpentier, Luis Firpo and Tommy Gibbons. He lost the title in 1926 and failed in an attempt to regain it in 1927 in the famed "Long Count" fight with Gene Tunney. One of the most celebrated athletes of the 20th century.
