HISTORY: Jack Dempsey fought Tom Gibbons on July 4, 1923 in Shelby, Montana. The fight nearly bankrupted the town and was forever more known as the "Rape of Shelby." Dempsey won by decision after 15 rounds to successfully defend his World Heavyweight Title.
