Rube Goldberg was an artist, inventor, sculptor and author. He is best known for his comical drawings of crazy inventions. These drawings appeared in U.S. newspapers from the 1900's through the 1960's. Presented here is a signed letter to Benny Leonard regarding Leonard's testimonial dinner. Rube Goldberg has boldly signed this 8 1/2" x 11" letter in black ink. The letter is creased once horizontally and twice vertically where it was folded. The upper left corner is ripped. There are creases in the top edge, lower right corner, and along the left edge of the page. There is some soiling in the corners and along the left edge. The signature has 1 crease going diagonally through the end of his last name.
