In August, 1923 Harry Greb was preparing for his World Middleweight Title fight with champion Johnny Wilson. The fight was scheduled for August 31th in New York at the Polo Grounds. This photograph depicts Harry Greb and his young daughter Dorothy at Greb's training camp on August 20, 1923, just eleven days before his fight with Wilson. Greb would bring home the title winning a fifteen round decision over Wilson.
This original, antique wirephoto depicts Harry Greb with his daughter Dorothy, giving her a daily reading lesson. The original caption sheet is attached to the back of the photo and is date August 20, 1923. There are some print markings on the white border outside the image. There are four small pinholes on the white border outside of the image. Light surface wear and a small crease in upper right corner. 6 1/2" x 8 1/2".
