On February 7, 1961 at Convention Center in the Miami Beach, Florida light heavyweights Harold Johnson and Jesse Bowdry fought for the vacant light heavyweight crown. Johnson prevailed stopping Bowdry in the 9th round. Bowdry was down four times in the bout.
