On July 4, 1907 in Marysville, California middleweights Stanley Ketchel and Joe Thomas squared off in an important match. After 20 rounds the fight was declared a draw. Offered here is an exceptionally rare official program from this event.
This official program is a one sheet with blank back. It pictures Joe Thomas and referee Ed Smith. It includes the record of the fighters and scorecard, which is not scored. The program was put into a scrap book and is still glued at the corners to black album paper (which can be removed). Has two creases in the corners. Some spot staining. Images are crisp. Tear on left border with no paper loss. This is exceptionally rare and quite possibly unique. The earliest program of Stanley Ketchel to have surfaced to our knowledge. 9 1/4" x 12."
