John "Jack" Knifton (born: January 22, 1855; died: May 6, 1896) was a big heavyweight and a strong puncher but not much of a boxer. "Jack" defeated such men as Walter Watson, Tom Scrutton, Wolf Bendoff and Jack Massey and performed exhibitions with Jem Mace and Charlie Mitchell.
