On January 7, 1824 in Worcester, England British Heavyweight Champion Tom Spring fought Irish Champion Jack Langan in a celebrated event of the day. After two hours and twenty nine minutes and 77 rounds Spring was declared the winner. Offered here is an original exhibition poster of Irish Champion Jack Langan for an event held 19 days after the fight and celebrating his participation in the fight.
This original exhibition poster is paper. It is dated January 26, 1824 and celebrates Jack Langan's appearance at the New Surrey Theatre to box in an exhibition with an opponent named Reynolds. Not creased or torn. Blank back. Cut somewhat irregularly. Bold print. Some minor foxing. Edge and corner wear. 9 1/2" x 14 1/2." Exceedingly rare and most likely unique.
