On July 25, 1917 at Shibe Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania lightweight stars Benny Leonard and Johnny Kilbane met in the featured match. Leonard knocked Kilbane out in the 3rd round. The result reported in Philadelphia newspapers (Philadelphia Record, Philadelphia Public Ledger. According to Boxing, August 22, 1917, page 212, Kilbane took a bad licking and his corner threw in the towel when he was floored at the end of the third round. Offered here is an original, full, unused ticket for this event.
This is an original, full, unused ticket which has a section, row, and seat number and names the fighters, venue and date. Bold color and print. Stub attached. Has a center crease. Corner wear. Small surface scratch at the A in Leonard. Some back damage from mounting. 2 1/2" x 5 1/2." Exceedingly rare.
