HISTORY: On October 26, 1951 (rescheduled from October 11, 1951) at Madison Square Garden in New York rising heavyweight star and future champion Rocky Marciano fought aging former champion Joe Louis. Marciano dominated and stopped Louis in the 8th round. Louis was knocked down twice in the 8th. Marciano dropped Louis for an 8-count with a left hook, and then sent him through the ropes for the knockout. Referee Rudy Goldstein calls a halt without a count.
