HISTORY: On March 24, 1950 at Madison Square Garden in New York future world heavyweight champion Rocky Marciano faced a tough obstacle in rugged Roland La Starza. Marciano prevailed winning a close ten round split decision. Under New York's supplemental scoring system referee Watson had Marciano winning 9-6, so Marciano was awarded a split decision. La Starza was down for a seven-count in round four, and Marciano lost the eighth round due to a low blow. Offered here is a rare, original, official program for this event.
