On March 19, 1910 at Cirque de Paris in Paris, France middleweights Billy Papke and Willie Lewis battled in the main event. Pake made short work of it and knocked Lewis out in the 3rd round. Thinking Stanley Ketchel had relinquished the middleweight title, Papke claimed it after his victory. Offered here is an original, first generation photograph by the notable Dana Studios depicting the end of the fight with Lewis being counted out by the referee as papke walks away.
