ROBINSON, SUGAR RAY-GERHART HECHT ORIGINAL WIRE PHOTO (1951)
On June 24, 1951 at Waldbuehne, Westend, Berlin, Germany middleweight champion Sugar Ray Robinson fought a non title fight with Gerhart Hecht. The fight was declared a no contest in the second round. Robinson was originally disqualified by Referee Otto Nispel for an illegal kidney blow. Later, the German Boxing Commission ruled it as a "no contest." Offered here is an original wire photo depicting the end of the fight with Hecht down.
