On July 31, 1942 at Madison Square Garden in New York lightweights Sammy Angott and Sugar Ray Robinson met in the main event. Robinson won a unanimous ten round decision. Robinson dropped Angott for a 5-count in round eight, but Sammy pulled Ray down when he fell, both of them landing on the ring apron. Offered here is an original official program for this event.
