HISTORY: On May 28, 1934 at the Madison Square Garden Bowl in Long Island City, New York Jimmy McLarnin and Barney Ross fought for the World Welterweight Title. McLarnin, in his first defense of the title he won a year earlier, lost a very close 15 round decision and the title to Ross.
