On May 28, 1935 at the Polo Grounds in New York welterweight champion Jimmy McLarnin defended his title against former champion Barney Ross. Ross won a 15 round unanimous decision to regain the title. Many day-after newspapers reported that the jinx of the welterweight champion losing his first title defense had continued, for the 12th consecutive time. The official scoring was 7-5-3, 8-6-1, and 9-4-2, all in favor of Ross. Offered here is an original wire photo depicting action during the fight.
