HISTORY: On May 13, 1934 at the Estadio Olimpico de Montjuic in Barcelona, Spain heavyweights Max Schmeling and Paolino Uzcudun fought in the featured bout. Schmeling was coming off consecutive losses to Max Baer and Steve Hamas. This fight ended in a draw although many observers thought Schmeling had won. BARCELONA, Spain, May 13. -- Max Schmeling, former world's heavyweight champion, pounded the veteran Basque, Paulino Uzcudun, about the ring in Montjuich Stadium for twelve rounds today, cut him severely about the face and emerged with nothing better than a draw decision.
