Max Schmeling was born on September 28, 1905 in Klein Luckaw, Brandenburg, Germany. He won the World Heavyweight Title on June 12, 1930 in a bout with Jack Sharkey. He also held the German Light Heavyweight, European Light Heavyweight and German Heavyweight Titles. He retired after losing to Richard Vogt on October 31, 1948 with a final record of 56-10-4 with 38 KO's. Presented here is an antique wire photo of Max Schmeling after defeating Paolino Uzcudun on July 7, 1935. This antique wire photo is 7 1/4" x 9 1/2" and pictures Schmeling after his victory over Paolino Uzcudun. There are small creases along the edges and in the corners and there are larger vertical creases in the upper right side. No rips or tears.
