Al Singer was born on September 6, 1909 in New York City, New York. He defeated Sammy Mandell on July 17, 1930 to win the World Lightweight Title. He retired after defeating Al Dunbar on November 26, 1935 with a final record of 61-9-2 with 25 KO's. Presented here is an antique wire photo of Singer and Carl Duane posing at the weigh-in the day of their bout in 1929.Singer would win the bout with a 10 round decision.
