HISTORY: On December 18, 2018 in Quebec City WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson defended his title against Oleksandr Gvozdyk in the featured bout. Gvozdyk knocked out Stevenson in the 11th round. Tenth WBC titular defense for Stevenson unsuccessful of title he won from Chad Dawson in Canada in 2013. Stevenson was down in the third and eleventh rounds, and was ahead on the scorecards at the time the bout ended. Referee Michael Griffin waves bout off after Gvozdyk 10 punch combination put Stevenson down and out in a corner. Stevenson hospitalized after this bout in critical condition in a medically induced coma, later upgraded to stable condition. If Stevenson had gotten up in the eleventh and finished the round, the cards would have been even, meaning the bout was still on the table.
