On April 12, 2008 at St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa, Florida IBO Light Heavyweight Champion Antonio Tarver fought IBF Light Heavyweight Champion Clinton Woods in a title unification bout. Tarver won a unanimous 12 round decision. Tarver easily outclassed Woods on the strength of his southpaw jab, left uppercut, straight left, and lateral movement. Woods tried hard to be competitive, but was unable to get his offense going for most of the fight or mount a challenge of any kind to Tarver's sharp punching. In the co feature WBC Light Heavyweight Champion Chad Dawson successfully defended his title winning a 12 round unanimous decision over Glen Johnson. Dawson dominated the early rounds with his hand speed, high punch output and flashy combinations from the outside but the toughness and experience of Johnson showed in the middle rounds as he worked his way in close and landed clubbing rights off Dawson's head. Dawson bounced back in rounds seven, eight and nine by getting off first from a distance and using his footwork to keep Johnson at bay, but Johnson caught up to Dawson in the championship rounds, beating Dawson up in the tenth round and out-working Dawson in the eleventh and twelfth rounds. In the end, Dawson won by a close unanimous decision. Offered here is an original, full, unused ticket for this event.
